Exercises

The Pulse metronome includes seven built-in exercises aimed at improving timing:

• Mute Beats: This feature randomly mutes beats, prompting users to develop and rely on their internal timing.
• Mute Bars: The metronome randomly mutes for a specified number of bars, allowing musicians to keep time independently. After the silent phase, users can evaluate their timing accuracy.
• Shift Beats: By muting all but one beat in a bar, this exercise shifts the sounding beat, which encourages adaptability. For example, in 4/4 time, the audible beat changes positions throughout.
• Random Start Tempo: This exercise presents a piece at varying tempos, encouraging mindfulness in timing as the metronome alters the speed with each start.
• Accelerator: Users can practice challenging passages at a manageable tempo, gradually increasing speed over time. The modifier maintains this initial tempo for several bars before incrementally speeding up.
• Decelerator: Functioning in opposition to the Accelerator, this exercise starts at a predetermined tempo before gradually lowering the speed over a designated number of bars.
• Rollercoaster: This advanced exercise varies the tempo, requiring musicians to adapt as it fluctuates. It promotes keen listening skills and is an enjoyable addition to training.
